ITALIAN DISCUS PRESENTS ITSELF
Italian Discus was created in 2001 in Milan, from the experience and from the passion of Christian Roncato. His interest in discus began at 14 years old, that guided him to study and meet the biggest breeders in the world, accumulating an impressive repository of experience.
Contact with breeders abroad began with the presence at the first edition of Duisburg (1996). At that time Cristian Roncato begins to import specimens from all over the world.
In 1997 the participation at aquarama, in Singapore, gave him the opportunity to meet the best south-eastern Asian breeders as well as Jack Wattley, Bing Seto and Giulia Mann - the most important American breeders - and with the support of Shifullah Yeng (Nura Discus).
In 1998 in Milan Cristian Roncato participated at the his first competition and is awarded first and third place with his specimens. Jack Wattley, the only judge at the competition, pays a visit Cristian's breeding facility is impressed by the number and coloration of the specimens. At that time Italian Discus established contacts and partnerships with the most important global breeders (Stendker, Gobel, Shulten, Wolf, Schnaider, Chai discus, Simon Pak).
Today, with his 70,000 liters of water and 350 tanks, Italian Discus is for all intents and purposes one of the best Italian entities in the discus breeding field, selected as the only Wayne discus center for Italy.
